SSI Wreck Diving Course

As you descend, your eyes scan the blue waters below. The anticipation builds. At any moment you know a familiar shape is going to materialise from the blue. Suddenly it’s there. You know where you are. You’ve dropped down the crows nest or come in on the bow or stern. You remember your dive briefing and the wreck diving adventure begins.

Exploring wrecks is an adventure that can take you around the world. Each wreck is a piece of history frozen in time; a canvas upon which active marine life and colourful corals also paint their own story.

Planning and safety issues are paramount, especially if you venture into diving unprepared wrecks. With The Dive Shed’s SSI Wreck Diver Course you’re guaranteed of highly qualified instruction. You’ll learn ever facet of planning and safety, while having an immense amount of fun. The accompanying textbook and DVD makes learning the technical information as easy as 1-2-3.

The course runs over 2 days. Please contact The Dive Shed for dates and locations for these courses. You may wish to combine Wreck Diver course with another SSI specialty course. If you prefer to get a group of friends together we will plan a course to suit your individual needs.

Wreck Diver prerequisites:

• Open Water certification
• minimum 15 years of age
• current diving medical (12 months)
• 12 dives logged dives (post Open Water certification)

Your SSI Wreck Diver Course fee includes: 

• registration & instruction 
• SSI Certification
• SSI Student Kit
• 2 boat dives

You need to provide:

• equipment (or hire it from The Dive Shed)
• diving medical (recent)
• 2 passport photographs
