SSI Navigation Diver Course

Do you and your buddies do the big ‘star burst’ underwater, especially when you’re hunting crayfish? Have you ever lost the boat? Are you a ‘pop-up and have a look for the boat’ diver? Have you ever gone for a shore dive and lost sense of your entry and exit points? Have you ever endured a long swim back to the boat because of poor navigation?

Natural navigation, compass navigation and special navigation situations – it’s all covered in The Dive Shed’s SSI Navigation Diver course. The Dive Shed’s highly qualified SSI instructors will lead you in all the practical underwater exercises. The accompanying textbook and DVD makes learning the theory as easy as 1-2-3.

The course runs over 2 days. Please contact The Dive Shed for dates and locations for these courses. You may wish to combine your Navigation Diver with another SSI specialty course like Wreck Diving for example. If you prefer to get a group of friends together we will plan a course to suit your individual needs.

Prerequisites

• Open Water certification
• minimum 15 years of age
• current diving medical (12 months)
• must have logged 12 dives post open water certification
